Dear Princess Diary,
In the spirit of Fortunate Friday, a tradition our lovely Queen Vienna established, I want to talk about a few interactions this week that left me thankful for this wonderful Society of ours and feeling fortunate that I get to be a part of it.
First, on Wednesday night I stopped by a liquor store by work to get White Zinfandel for "the Princess Mother" for Thanksgiving. As I am in no mood to deal with people and am contemplating which bottle of pink wine to acquire (large or larger), from the corner of my eye this older man comes up the aisle and stops, expectantly. I'm ready to be annoyed as I turn and behold the twinkling eyes of Saint Robert Whitcombe of Brandywine. I adore this man and was thrilled to see him as he recently left us to move to Owlshurst.
Second, today I was having a lousy day. I had to be at work at 8am to push 15 baby birds out of the nest from my last training class (some of them forcibly). The stock market has been wild this week, and my systems set-up team continues to suck all the fun out of dysfunctional. Meanwhile, His Highness is chatting with me about the Tir Maran Rapier champs this weekend and sending me selfies of him and the adorable Hemma. And I'm venting about how I'm never going to get anything to work and how frustrating it is and he proceeds to give me a pep talk about I have this, I'm Princess of the East and a "badass mammajama" and got me to smile and attack the day. He's a damn fine Prince.
Third, I headed to Bianca's after work for sewing with Rodrigo and Simona. Where I patterned a new bodice for Simona and then we watched the new She-Ra, which is AMAZING. We laughed, mocked the TV, and laughed harder when they mocked themselves. ("You heard Adora: PRINCESSES ARE MONSTERS", "We must leave Plumeria for Cucumber Mellonia!" "I'm pretty sure that mermaid kingdom runs on avacado toast") It was a wonderful relaxing time with my chosen family.
Thank you all for being part of my life, and helping me find joy and laughter with you!
Love and Gilded Kisses,
-Princess Fortune
P.S.: Hope you had a good Thanksgiving, and Peace on Etheria!
